Pet Industry

The pet industry, although a few people today do not know anything about it, has existed for a long time since the advent of industrialisation. The industry encompasses a wide variety of entities that may operate as for-profit businesses or non-profit organisations. These entities chiefly include pet shops and animal shelters. A pet shop sells a variety of domesticated animals and also offers pet supplies such as food and accessories. An animal shelter, on the other hand, is often categorised into several distinct types. These types of animal shelters primarily involve animal control agencies or dog pounds, open door shelters, animal sanctuaries, rescue organisations and no-kill shelters. Other shelters may euthanize animals, which have not been adopted within a certain period of time.
