Making Home Dog-Friendly

When you bring home your new dog, you have to make sure that your house is ready before he moves in. Since your pet is not yet familiar with the surroundings, there can be a lot of things there that he could destroy or even worse, hurt him.

If you are bringing home a puppy, and he may still be teething, he may not know which one is supposed to be his chew toy. So do not leave your child’s favourite toys that may be small enough for him to nibble on. Prevent things from falling on his head by transferring the not-so-steady tables in areas where he does not normally go. Dogs are always attracted to trash so it is better if you hide these from your pet not only because he can leave them scattered all over the place but also there may be things that can be harmful to him if he swallows them. Other things that are also dangerous to him when ingested are the household chemicals that you use for your laundry or to clean your home. Always keep your kitchen floor clean from food that may have fallen off the table. This is because human food is not always safe for dogs to eat.

It is advisable that you make your home safe and friendly for your dog. Give him a proper place to eat at and sleep in. It is important that he is always happy with you as you are with him.
