When going on vacation and being a dog owner, sometimes you just cannot leave your favourite pet behind. You also want him to have the time of his life with you on a holiday. It can be difficult to find an accommodation that will allow guests who travel with a canine. There are ways, however, in finding the right place for both of you.

You can also find first hand information through your friends who have travelled with their pets in tow. Ask for recommendations about the places where both of you can get the best accommodations. Travel guides that you find at book stores or travel agencies might have a list of hotels that are dog-friendly.

When you have made a list of places that you can possibly stay in, call them ahead and ask for details. Some of them may have limited number of rooms for pet owners so it is better for you to make reservations early. You can also inquire about special programs and activities, in which your canine can enjoy. Most hotels usually ask for a deposit or an additional fee when you bring your pet along. When in the hotel, always put your dog on a leash and make it a point to bring him along with every time you leave.
